Last Updated on: June 16, 2022

Make the most of your portable infrared sauna with this simple how-to guide! Learn about the different settings the Synergy Sauna™ has to offer, and when to use them.

The Synergy Sauna™ is a portable infrared sauna that makes it easy for you to enjoy the benefits of regular sauna therapy right in your own home. In addition to using near-, mid-, and far-infrared light to give you a deeper detox, the Synergy Sauna™ has several features that you can choose for your next sauna session.

Sauna vs. Therapy Mode

The Synergy Sauna™ provides two different modes that you can use during your therapy session: sauna mode and therapy mode.

Use the sauna mode when you wish to maintain a constant temperature during your session.

Sauna Mode

The sauna mode is great for those who want to experience a traditional sauna session. This mode allows you to select the temperature you want for your session. You can adjust the temperature as desired, and once the temperature is selected, the sauna will remain at that temperature for the duration of your session.

You can select sauna mode by clicking the “Sauna/Therapy” button on the integrated remote for your sauna. An icon of a woman sweating while sitting will appear on the remote screen when sauna mode is on.

Therapy Mode

Therapy mode is designed for when you wish to enjoy your sauna session at a lower temperature. When you select this mode, the three heating panels in the sides of your Synergy Sauna™ will turn on and off. As a result, the temperature within the sauna will fluctuate. This mode can be a good choice for people who have a difficult time sitting in hotter temperatures.

You can select therapy mode by clicking the “Sauna/Therapy” button on the integrated remote for your sauna. An icon of a woman reclining in a chair will appear on the remote screen when therapy mode is on.

Negative Ion vs. Ozone Generation

In addition to providing you with two sauna session modes, the Synergy Sauna™ has two features that can enhance your sauna experience and help keep your sauna germ-free.

Negative Ion Generator

Negative ions help protect you from positive ions and their harmful effects.

The Negative Ion Generator is a feature that, when turned on, produces negative ions and releases them in the air. Negative ions are molecules or atoms that have a negative charge because they have additional electrons. (1) Both negative and positive ions exist in nature, but they can also be man-made.

Positive ions are largely generated by dust and other pollutants in the air, as well as any device that generates electromagnetic fields (EMFs), including your cell phone, computer, Wi-Fi routers, and tablets. (1) Over time, studies have linked an abundance of positive ions to various health problems, including those linked to EMF radiation.

Negative ions, on the other hand, have been studied for over 100 years and have shown a variety of health benefits. These include reducing your chances of getting a cold or the flu, boosting your mood, slowing signs of aging in your skin, improving blood circulation, and improving your body’s ability to absorb nutrients. (2)

While our modern world tends to be oversaturated with positive ions, we can combat their effects by exposing ourselves to more negative ions. The Negative Ion Generator in the Synergy Sauna™ makes it easy for you to experience the benefits of negative ions while enjoying your sauna session.

The switch to turn on the Negative Ion Generator is located at the bottom of the Synergy Sauna™ along the back wall, to the right of the chair. Simply press the word “ION” on the left side of the button to enable this function.

Ozone Generation

The Ozone Generator is designed to help keep the inside of your Synergy Sauna™ clean and germ-free. Bacteria thrive in warm and moist environments, which perfectly describes the inside of a sauna. Once you have finished your sauna session, turn on the Ozone Generator and let it run while you cool off. Do NOT use this feature during your session or while you are in the sauna.

Ozone is a naturally effective disinfectant simply because it is unstable and will easily react with anything it can oxidize, including living bacteria and virus cells. When ozone comes in contact with bacteria or other pathogens, it oxidizes (or destroys) various cellular components, including the cell wall. As ozone enters the cell, it destroys proteins, DNA, RNA, and other components that are essential for a cell to live. Such extensive damage causes the bacteria cell to fall apart and renders the pathogen inactive. (3)

The Ozone Generator in your Synergy Sauna™ releases ozone molecules into the air. Those molecules then attach to and destroy any living pathogens inside the sauna. As a result, you can keep your sauna clean between every use, all without the use of harsh chemicals.

To turn on the Ozone Generator, locate the switch at the bottom of the Synergy Sauna™ along the back wall, to the right of the chair. Press the O3 icon on the right side of the button to enable this function.
